So what the hell is the purpose of this website? It's a collection of reviews for obscure arcade games you probably have never played, or even heard of for that matter... and articles on other fun trivial arcade game facts. I promise your life will be completely enriched by the rare, yet useless information provided here.

This website looks like shit and won't win any web design awards. You have been warned. Also, this site makes gratuitous use of title tags on images. If you're not mouseover'ing images, you're missing out on some dumb jokes!

April 4th, 2016 - So... uh... 2015 came and went, and I never updated this website. Exactly as expected!
I will instead say that I've actually been livestreaming a lot of MAME stuff on my twitch channel lately! I started a series called "MAME Roulette" where I play MAME games chosen completely at random. Sometimes I have interesting things to say about the games that come up, other times I have no idea what the fuck I'm doing! But it's a good time all around.
All the past archives get saved as highlights, and I also upload them to my youtube channel as well. So if the lack of updates here makes you sad and you're jonesin for a BBH fix, go comb through the archives and you might find something interesting. As for an actual update to this website? Um... I'll get back to you on that, maybe...

September 9th, 2015 - Well, uh.... hmm. It's been another 2 and a half years without any updates to this site again. Surprised? You shouldn't be, really. Hell, I didn't even notice that I missed the site's 10-year anniversary back in August 2014! I could've done something for August 2015 instead, but uhh, oops I missed that too. And wow... in 11 years I've only managed to put 10 "reviews" on this website, plus all that MK2 glitch blabbering that can be more easily summed up in a youtube video these days. It's pretty clear that back in 2004 I had grander ambitions for this thing, but they never came to be. Not throwing in the towel or anything, I definitely still have unfinished things I'd like to post someday... but I'm making this update for another reason.

For these 11+ years, the site's been hosted on the domain (along with of course The MAME Action Replay Page, one of the most important sites on the internet for documenting world-class arcade emulator play). I sincerely want to thank seymour for graciously allowing me to piggyback on the site by providing me with my own little subdomain here. It actually started off as just a place to store some images and other files, and then I decided to try making my own dumb little webpage with the alloted space. seymour is not interested in hosting the domain any more, but other interested parties have stepped up, so in theory this site shouldn't be going anywhere. But if MARP gets moved at any point in the future then this site will probably end up 404'ing. Even if, worst case scenario here, disappears forever and doesn't get rehosted, I've backed up all these files to my hard drive so nothing will vanish into the ether forever. Then it's just a matter of finding a new host.

And actually, I've also considered just saying "fuck it" and buying my own domain. Of course, I wouldn't want to end up paying for a website that never gets updated, so... maybe it would motivate me to write more things...?!? I've also considered just moving my efforts away from this antiquated mid-90's website design into the standard blog format that's all the rage now. I feel kinda stuck having this site that only seems to deal in updates that are always entirely focused around everything pertaining to a single game. I've always had idea for some smaller things I've wanted to talk about that unfortunately feel like they would be out of place next to a full expose on The Super Spy. Granted, I could keep going with this site and just make a new section for this stuff, but everything looks nicer in the standard blog format. No way I'm going to put any actual effort into learning webpage design or anything!

So.... that's all I wanted to say. I'll try to get SOMETHING more meaningful up here before the end of 2015 at the latest. Emphasis on "try"!

January 11th, 2013 - Oops, this took a little longer than expected. But here it is, another actual update with new content. And this isn't just any update, oh no. This is The Super Spy, a review/walkthrough that took me 6 years to finish. I'm not joking here. I knew of course that the game had lots of material that would be worth talking about, and wondered if I should do a sort of visual walkthrough for the game. Of course, I realized how much work that would entail and lost interest in doing that very quickly. Over time I tried coming back to it and would type up a little bit for it here and there, but it was still too daunting. Finally a couple months ago, at the same time I started working on the Skate Kid Bros page, I decided it was time to see The Super Spy through to completion and resumed working on it. It's ballooned out of control and become even longer than I feared it would be, but it's over and done with and submitted for your reading pleasure.

I don't think I'll ever do another "review" on this website that's as long as The Super Spy, but I'm still trying to commit to getting some more updates out in the near future! Possibly a new section for things I want to talk about that don't merit "full" reviews (because boy am I ready to tackle some much shorter stuff now after this).

November 27th, 2012 - NEW CONTENT!
Yes, I have been ridiculously neglectful of this website, and have added nothing new to it over the last 4 and a half years. Well, that drought is over! Please enjoy a look at a strange rom hack called Vs. Skate Kid Bros. You might learn a thing or two about the original source material as well!
As for the future of this site? Contrary to what you might think, I haven't run out of ideas or material for new updates - I actually have at least a half dozen pages that I've started but not gotten very far on, none of them being anywhere near completion. It's always a matter of finding the motivation (and time) to get the rest of the work done on them.
The good news is, during the course of writing this last review I've also spent a bit of time doing stuff for what I want to be the next update... which at this rate is going to end up being the most massive section on this page yet. And I do want to get it done very soon, for once. We'll see how well that enthusiasm holds up in the near future!
Finally, I'm realizing that with the increased amounts of time I've put into the most recent reviews on this site, it really makes the old ones look bad. I clearly rushed them just for the sake of getting them done and up on the internet. As a result, I'm not really proud of the first few things I uploaded way back in 2004 (crap on a crutch, has it really been that long?!?)... and gosh darnit, Chimera Beast deserves to have a much better page, at least! The idea of trying to go back and improve old reviews may not be as enticing to people as new content... but I feel like there's a lot that can be changed for the better. If nothing else, adding some videos to accompany this stuff (like I did with Skate Kid Bros) would help things, especially for that dumb MK2 Babality thing. Slightly revised reviews would also let me update this page more since I wouldn't have to do quite as much work (in theory). Hmmmm....
Oh also, while I haven't actually edited the content of any old reviews, I have decided to go back and make them a little more readable since they never had Arial font. I still want to redo the layout of this main page too, but I'm obviously so terrible at HTML. Guh!

March 20th, 2012 - Uhhhh, wow. I'm not exactly sure how something like this could happen, but this half-assed website somehow managed to inspire someone to create their own website of silly game reviews (and other fun things). And it's been around for nearly 4 years! So if you're saddened by the lack of new content here, do check out Gaming Hell, won't you? It should keep you plenty busy until I make a real update here. But maybe, just maybe, I'll manage to add a new review before I end up going 4 years on this page without adding any new content...?!?

October 31st, 2011 - On Halloween, the dead come back to life! Or rather, due to popular demand (well okay, one person asked), I decided to revive my old web project - Shock Therapy, a webpage about my favorite game in the whole world, Shock Troopers. I put it up on the internet back in 1999 and made no updates to it in over a decade (shocking, I know). It doesn't really feel right not having the page around, so there it is. Ultimately I kinda wanna do a new tribute to Shock Troopers, since I learned a lot of things about the game in that time and even ended up getting the highest score in the world on it. But we all know how I am about finishing new things for websites, right? Ha ha... ha......

The ancient never-gonna-be-updated page Shock Therapy is right here.
